BATSE Module B6 with its thermal insulation completely installed. Space can be a very cold place, and when you only dissipate about 3 watts (3% of the power of a 100 Watt light bulb), you don't really make enough heat to stay warm. So, BATSE utilizes blankets to keep the heat in, in order to maintain a moderate operating temperature for the detector. This view is from nearly the opposite vantage point of the previous picture, namely from "the tail-light on the passenger side."
